10. Detection Principle
Hot-wire Semiconductor Sensor
The sensor is constructed of a metal oxide semiconductor that is sintered in a ball on
a platinum wire coil that functions as both a heater and electrode. It detects the
change of electrical conductivity occurred by oxidation reaction and adsorption of
combustible gas on the surface of the oxide semiconductor.
