The Heating Element switches off when the upper temperature (OUT) of
water T3 reaches [value of parameter 0] + 1 °C or when the [HEATING
ELEMENT] key
is pressed (manual switch-off).
This function is useful when the heat pump setpoint temperature is to
be reached quickly and by reducing the heating time duration or, for
Bollyterm
®
HP 1/2, when the user wants to heat all the water in the tank
(not only the upper part heated by the condenser of the heat pump).
Caution: The Heating Element is activated after a delay
time that can be set by the user and is equal to [value of
parameter 3] x 5 minutes.
Note: If the setpoint temperature of the Heating Element (set value
of parameter 2) is < 60°C and the water setpoint temperature (set
value of parameter 0) is > 60°C, the Heating Element switches off
when the tank temperature reaches [set value of parameter 2], then
switches on again at 60°C until reaching [value of parameter 0]. For
this reason, the default [value of parameter 2] is = 60° C.
If the Heating Element has not been activated by pressing the [HEATING
ELEMENT] key
on the control panel. The Heating Element cannot
work as an integration in the following cases:
OVERHEATING:
if the water setpoint temperature (set value of parameter
0]) is > 60° C, the heat pump heats the water up to 60° C. When the tank
water temperature detected by the probe (T2) is > 60° C, the compressor
stops, due to the protection function, and the Heating Element is activated.
When the temperature detected by the probe (T2) reaches [value of
parameter 0] + 1°C, the Heating Element switches off. If the temperature
(T2) goes below 60° C, the Heating Element switches off and the Heat
Pump switches on again and heats the water up to 60° C.
DEFROSTING/ANTIBACTERIAL CYCLE:
When the appliance is
in defrosting mode or in disinfection mode, the electric heater is on.
The electric heater switches off when the unit exists the defrosting or
disinfection mode.
10.2.3 Heating Element only operation
The Heating Element can operate alone to heat water in the following
cases:
MANUAL ACTIVATION:
during STAND-BY mode, press the [HEATING
ELEMENT] key
to activate HEATING ELEMENT ONLY mode.
The Heating Element is activated to heat water up to [value of parameter
2], while the Heat Pump remains off; the operating mode of the unit will
be as follows:
If the tank water temperature detected by T3 probe is ≤ [value of
parameter 2]-3°C, the Heating Element is activated. The Heating Element
switches off when the water temperature detected by T3 probe reaches
[value of parameter 0] + 1°C or when the [HEATING ELEMENT] key
is pressed (manual switch-off).
This function is useful if a temperature (value of parameter 2) different from
the heat pump setpoint (value of parameter 0) is to be reached quickly.
If the Heating Element has not been manually activated by pressing the
[HEATING ELEMENT] key
on the control panel, it can be operated in
the following cases:
TEMPERATURE PROTECTION:
If T1 probe detects an ambient
temperature T1≤ -5 ° C or T1> 44°C, the compressor of the Heat Pump
stops, due to the protection function, the Heating Element is activated
and the domestic hot water production is carried out only by means of
the Heating Element, which switches on after a delay time equal to [value
of parameter 2] x 5 minutes. When the ambient temperature is again
between the following values: -3°C ≤ T1 ≤ 42°C, the Heating Element
switches off and the Heat Pump switches on again.
PRESSURE PROTECTION:
if a protection function for high or low
pressure is triggered 3 times in 30 min, the compressor of the Heat Pump
stops and the Heating Element switches on. In this case, the error code
will be displayed. This protection cannot be reset without first removing
the power supply. The Heating Element operation will continue until the
set temperature is reached, then it will switch off.
ANTI-FREEZE PROTECTION:
If the tank water temperature detected by
T2 probe in STAND-BY mode is ≤ 5 °C, the Heating Element is activated
to protect the tank against freezing. The Heating Element switches off
when the water temperature is again T2 ≥ 10° C or when the unit is
switched on by pressing the [ON/OFF] key.
10.2.4 Defrosting mode
The defrosting mode allows using the unit even with air temperatures
close to 0° C, preventing ice from forming on the surface of the evaporating
coil. This function activates the heating element automatically, the
system enters or exits the defrosting mode according to the internal
control program. . The unit does not support defrosting manual control.
The defrosting parameters that can be set are as follows:
• Parameter 6 Defrosting time 30~90 min (45 min by default)
• Parameter 7 Heat exchanger temperature for defrosting activation
-30 ~ 0°C (-7°C by default)
• Parameter 8 Heat exchanger temperature for defrosting deactivation
2 ~ 30°C (13°C by default)
10.2.5
Cyclical antibacterial treatment function
The antibacterial cycle is used to cyclically increase the
boiler water temperature to, and keep it at, a temperature
value defined as thermal shock (65-70°C) ([value of
parameter 4] 50÷70 °C) through the Heating Element. The
cycle starts automatically every week (not editable) at
the set time of the selected day (value of parameter 13).
The cycle will be performed on the day of the week in which the unit
has been connected to the power supply (in case of black-out, the
cycle period is reset and restarted from the moment in which the
power was restored).
The following Parameters (Configuration Branch) must be set:
• Parameter 4 Thermal Shock Setpoint
• Parameter 5 duration of each cycle (disinfection time at thermal shock
temperature)
• Parameter 13 time of cycle start day.
The antibacterial cycle program activates the Heating Element and keeps
it on until the upper temperature of the tank T3 is grater than or equal to
[set value of parameter 4]; when this temperature is reached, the Heating
Element stops.
