Backup and restore
Plato now supports automated backup and restore of all media data. Use this option to
configure automated backups, or restore data from a previous backup.
See section 17
for more details on backup and restore.
14.1.4.
Media Rescan
Media rescan is sometimes required to regenerate internal audio structures required for
some of Plato’s advanced features.
This process can take a long time to complete, it’s progress is reported via the server
progress page as described above. While the rescan is running, basic Plato operations may be
compromised as the system is busy with the rescan operation.
Media rescan should only be performed at the request of Convert Technologies technical
staff.

Settings
The settings page provides a means of configuring Plato for your specific system and
requirements. The following options are available:
Friendly Name
Defines the UPnP friendly name displayed in Plato’s device lists.
Standby Timer
Defines the time to enter low power standby state after inactivity.
Always keep media server awake
Ensures server operations are left active at all times. Enabling this mode will ensure the
system is immediately responsive to new requests for media, but will consume more power
in its low power state.
Power amplifier mode
Provides a means of forcing the power amplifier to be off, even when fitted. This will result in
quieter pre-amplifier operation, useful for demonstrating pre-amplifier only operation in a
fully loaded Plato system.
