Import
The Import Feature allows you to import media files to your Plato unit. This option provides a
fully automated import facility from a USB device plugged into the FRONT USB port. The
import will include file copy, additions to the internal media database, and Gracenote checks
to find artist images and other tagging information.
This feature also includes controls to support the supplied USB CD drive included with Plato.
Using this option it is possible to rip audio CDs at high speed directly onto Plato’s internal
hard drive.
Although the import operation is all done on Plato itself, it is possible to control the process,
and monitor its progress using a remote tablet. First select the appropriate Plato device from
the device drop-down list.
The IMPORT MEDIA tab provides automated controls to import from the connected USB
device. The File Manager tab provides more detailed controls to allow single files or
directories to be imported one at a time.
Note that the import controls can all be activated from a remote device running the Plato
app. Each control screen contains a drop down device selector list which indicates which
device you are talking to. In most cases the device you are interested in will be your main
Plato unit. Please ensure you have selected the correct device.

details on how to check/upgrade your Plato system firmware.
Note that it is only possible to import audio CDs via the supplied USB CD drive.
Note that the ripping process requires an internet connection for the Plato device.
Plug your supplied USB CD drive into Plato’s front USB socket, and select CD on the IMPORT
MEDIA tab.
