Media Library
The Media Library feature allows you to play back or queue media tracks from Plato’s
internal hard drive, or from other compliant UPnP servers on your home network.
The Device Access List allows you to select the UPnP server you would like to use as your
playback source.
Plato’s internal media library includes all music that you have recorded, plus music, images,
and video content that you have imported.
You can filter your music collection by Album, Artist, or Genre by selecting the appropriate
option from the drop down list in the top right of the screen.
Video or image content is viewed by selecting the Video or Image button. An additional
Browse option is provided to perform low level UPnP Browse actions on the selected server
if it does not support enhanced search capability.
It is possible to view the Media Library as a grid or list view using the list/grid icon on the
right of the view filter drop down list.
The library entries are listed in alphabetical order, and the alphabetised slider on the far right
hand side of the main library screen provides fast access to specific parts of the library.

Playing music from your Library
It is possible to descend the media hierarchy from artist-album-track by touching the
appropriate icon. The artist view displays images collected from Gracenote’s lookup service
where possible.
At any point in the hierarchy you may also choose to play all the tracks from that point in the
hierarchy (e.g. all tracks by a certain artist, or all tracks on an album):
•
Long press the appropriate icon to show the Play Menu dialog box, OR:
•
Activate the Play Menu dialog box from the More Options icon on the right of the
Artist/Album name, and select Play Menu, OR:
Short press on the album artwork and select ‘Play All’ from the Album Details screen
Plato is a streaming device which means you can choose to play media to any compliant
device on your home network. The Play Menu
dialog box provides a Selected Device list to
allow you to select any UPnP device to playback
the selected track(s).
Note that Plato is able to support many streams
running simultaneously.
