12. PC connection
If you are using an SD memory card with a lot of memory, we recommend using
a USB 2.0 card reader to transfer data. Otherwise, data transfer can be time-
consuming as the digital camera in the binoculars only supports USB 1.1.
If you are using Windows 98SE, the driver provided with the card reader has to be installed
before the connection.
Under Windows ME/XP/Vista the driver is already included in the operating system. No
additional driver installation is necessary!
Proceed as follows:
• Switch
off
the camera (hold down the "MODE" button for approx. 2 seconds).
• Connect the product to a free USB port on your computer using the provided USB cable.
• Switch
on
the camera.
If you switch on the camera before establishing the PC connection, the PC will
recognise a webcam instead of a removable drive!
To use the camera as a webcam, see chapter 13 on the next page.
• If connected for the first time, Windows will recognise the device as new hardware and install
it within a few seconds.
• The internal memory (or the SD card, if inserted) is installed as a removable drive.
Copy the data saved in the internal memory (or on the SD memory card, if inserted) to your
computer, e.g. using Windows Explorer.
• When copying is complete, wait for a few seconds before disconnecting the cable. The
camera goes off automatically.
