8. Inserting/replacing the batteries
• Open the battery compartment lid on the underside of the device.
• Insert three AAA batteries with the correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-). The polarity
is indicated in the battery compartment.
The two lower batteries are inserted with the negative terminal pointing towards the inside
of the housing. The single upper battery is inserted with the negative terminal pointing
towards the edge of the housing (towards the eyepiece/SD memory card slot).
The fabric band in the battery compartment allows you to easily remove the two lower

9. Using an SD memory card
The camera is equipped with an internal memory of 16 MBytes. The memory is not fully
available because part of it is used for internal purposes (cache, image processing, etc.).
You can insert an SD memory card (not included in delivery) into the slot (11) (SD memory card,
max. 2 GBytes, do not use SDHC memory cards!).
Switch off the device before inserting or removing the memory card! The
internal memory is deactivated until the SD memory card is removed again.
Insert the SD memory card into the slot so that the contacts of the memory card point upwards
(towards the focus wheel) with the small slanted corner in front.
