Main Menu Bar
The Amplifier Main Menu Bar is displayed regardless of is active. This gives ongoing status of
critical amplifier parameters and controls.
These include:
1.
Amplifier operating mode
a.
Filament Time Delay
b.
Standby
c.
High Voltage
d.
Fault
2.
Gain control (Standby Mode)
3.
RF Output Power (High Voltage On)
4.
High Voltage Control
5.
RF Inhibit status and control
6.
Local / Remote status and control
7.
Touch-screen lock status and control
The following illustrations explain the status and use of the main menu bar.
Figure 5 - Filament Time Delay
Filament Time Delay
When the power is first applied to the amplifier, voltage is applied to the TWT’s filament.
The TWT’s filament must be at operating temperature for the tube to function properly.
The typical warm-up period is three minutes. During this warm-up period, the FTD
indicator (Blue) will be indicated. When the delay cycle is complete the Standby (amber)
indicator will be shown.
If there is a power failure, high voltage will be OFF for a period of time proportional to
the prime power off-time. At the end of the recovery period, if high voltage is ON when
the prime power interruption occurs, the high voltage is automatically restored.
High voltage can be selected ON during filament time delay this is termed “Pending High
voltage ON” is this mode high voltage will be applied automatically at the end of the
filament time delay period. The amplifier will “beep” twice when the high voltage is
applied to the TWT.
