Mix-minus refers to the generation of a special audio signal to be fed to
callers on the STAC. Essentially, it is a
mix
of all audio being sent over the
air
minus
the callers themselves. This feed is only applied to the
Main
Send Input
on the STAC. The
On Hold
audio typically contains the entire
program feed, including callers.
Mix-minus can be generated several ways, and this section describes many
of them.
One important element of the STAC is shown in Figure 1. The STAC has
only
one
input for mix-minus. This means that if you intend to use both
STAC hybrids, you must generate a single mix-minus feed with
both
callers
missing.
