Making calls using a PIN from a keystation
When the Portable PIN facility is activated the option 'Portable PIN' is added to the idle display of
all Keystations.
•
Select the 'Portable PIN' option or dial 799.
•
Enter a valid PIN number. Dial tone is returned.
•
Dial the external number.
If the number is allowed in the class of service allocated to the PIN the call progresses as
normal.
If the number is restricted in the Class of service allocated to the PIN the call is disconnected,
NU tone is returned and 'Call Barred' is displayed.
Making calls using a PIN from a standard analogue phone
•
Go off hook and dial the code 799.
•
Enter a valid six digit PIN. A free line is automatically selected, dial tone is
returned and the external number can be dialled.
If the number is allowed in the class of service allocated to the PIN the call progresses as
normal.
If the number is restricted in the Class of service allocated to the PIN the call is disconnected
and NU tone is returned.
Redial and Saved number stores
Calls made using the Portable PIN feature are NOT stored in the redial or saved number dial
store. When calls are made from the phone without using the Portable PIN facility these
numbers are stored in the Redial and Saved numbers stores.
Ringback facility
If no line is available when a PIN is entered busy tone is returned.
The Ringback Facility is not available.
The 'Ringback prompt is not displayed if the PIN was entered from a keystation. If an attempt is
made to invoke a ringback from a standard phone busy tone is returned.
Phone lock facility
If the Portable PIN is entered from a phone with Phone Lock enabled the user is presented with
dial tone when the PIN is entered. The lock is not activated.
Account Codes
If the ‘Account Codes’ facility is activated users can enter an account code while on a call or
after a call has been completed. As dial tone is presented immediately a PIN is entered the
ability to enter an Account Code' prior to making a call is not available.
Forced Account Codes
The 'Forced Account' Code feature is not available when a PIN is used. The feature is available
to Stations. Using a PIN on an Station Programmed as a 'Forced Account Code' Station
overrides the forced account code feature.
Speed dialling
As line dial tone is returned as soon as a PIN is entered the Individual and System Speed dial
options are not available.
Keys Programmed with digits
Calls can be made by entering a PIN and when dial tone is returned selecting a key which is
Programmed with a number. (A line access code must not be Programmed on the key).
