To retrieve Answering Machine messages remotely
Dial in on an Auto-attendant Line. (See below for information on the Auto-attendant feature)
When you receive the Auto-attendant greeting, dial 711, followed by Station number 9, the
Voicemail Answering Machine Password and #.
Auto-attendant
The Auto-attendant feature allows callers to ring directly through to a Station, provided that they
know the Station number of the person they wish to contact. The announcement can invite the
customer to dial a single digit dial through number (see below), a station number or an incoming
group number. A Voice Module must be installed for this feature to operate. The service is
available on both Analogue and ISDN lines and can be enabled on a line-by-line basis.
When the caller telephones in on a Line programmed for Auto-attendant, the call will be
answered by the system within a programmed time - one second by default.
When the system is in ‘Day Service’, the caller will hear the following pre-recorded greeting:
‘Thank you for calling. If you know the Station number you wish to contact, please dial the
number. If you require assistance, please wait or dial 9.’ When the system is in ‘Night Service’,
the caller will hear the following pre-recorded greeting: ‘Thank you. There is no one available to
handle your call at the moment. If you wish to contact a particular Station, please dial the
number.’ You can customise these greetings.
The caller then dials the single digit dial through (see below), the station number or the group
number required. (The caller’s telephone must be in tone dialling mode). If the digits are not
received within 5 seconds, the call is presented to the default ring group for the line.
When the caller enters the Station number, the Station will ring and the Courtesy Service
greeting from the internal source is played to the caller (‘Thank you, your call will be dealt with ,
please hold’) . If it is not answered within thirty seconds, the call will be presented as a normal
incoming call. If the Station is busy the call is camped on to that station. If a Divert On Busy is
programmed it is activated. If a Divert On No Answer is programmed it is activated after the no
answer timer expires. If the station becomes free before the no answer timer expires the call is
presented to the station.
If the caller dials 711, standard voice box access is initiated.
Single digit dial through of Auto-Attendant.
The caller dials a single digit, waits 2 seconds, and the call is presented to a group as follows:
If the digit 1 is dialled the call will be routed to Group 20
If the digit 2 is dialled the call will be routed to Group 19
If the digit 3 is dialled the call will be routed to Group 18
If the digit 4 is dialled the call will be routed to Group 17
If the digit 5 is dialled the call will be routed to Group 16
If the digit 6 is dialled the call will be routed to Group 15
If the digit 7 is dialled the call will be routed to Group 14
If the digit 8 is dialled the call will be routed to Group 13
If the digit 9 is dialled the call will be routed to Group 12
If the digit 0 is dialled the call will be routed to the Group associated with that line
The AA Dial Time in User Timer programming can adjust the wait period after the first digit from
1 - 5 second. The default setting is 2.
If a call is received on an Auto-attendant Line when the Voicemail system is busy, the call will
ring as a normal call. If the Voicemail system becomes free before the call is answered, the
Auto-attendant feature is activated, the call is automatically answered and the Auto-attendant
message is returned.
You may use this service to allow callers to dial stations directly, if you are not utilising the
ISDN MSN/DDI service.
