Long-term storage procedures (over a month)
• Empty the fuel tank when the engine is cold. Do the work outside and collect the fuel in an
appropriate container. If the fuel is not to be reused, deposit it at an appropriate recycling centre.
• Start the engine and let it run until it is out of fuel.
• Store the snow blower in a well-ventilated area, never in an enclosed storage facility subject
to naked flames or sparks.
Lubrication
Regularly lubricate the gear controls and other moving parts with a few drops of motor oil and/or
spray (e.g. 5−56, WD-40). Do not over-lubricate!
Lubrication of and servicing the auger and replacement of
the shear pins
The auger is equipped with shear pins that are meant to shear if the auger strikes hard compacted
ice or other foreign objects. The snow blower is supplied with extra shear pins so that they can
be replaced when needed.
Important:
Never substitute the shear pins with ordinary bolts. This can seriously damage
the snow blower if the auger jams on a foreign object.
Unscrew the shear pins once per season and
spray inside the drive shaft with oil lubricant.
Lubricate the auger drive shaft’s plastic bearings.
Replacing the auger drive belt
1. Remove the wire that sits on the protective cover
over the belt.
2. Remove the locking plugs that keep the protective
cover in place over the belt (one on each side).
3. Remove the cover.
