If the auger rotates even through the lever is not depressed while the engine is running then
the amount of free play in the wire is too little. Do the following:
1. Adjust the wire to increase the free play in it (decrease the distance in
the adjustment).
2. Start the engine and check performance.
Drive
If the blower has a tendency to move forward without having the clutch engaged,
then the wire is too taut.
1. Adjust the wire so that there is some free play in it (decrease
the distance in the adjustment) using the same procedure used
for adjusting the auger wire described earlier.
2. Start the engine and check performance.
If the blower does not move forward when the clutch
lever is depressed, then the wire is too loose.
1. Adjust the wire by decreasing the distance in
the adjustment.
2. Start the engine and check performance.
