Synchronization with RetCam 
Review Software (RCRS)

The features described in this section are available only if the RetCam System is 
configured for use with RCRS™.

You can synchronize your RetCam with RCRS to provide storage, retrieval, annotating, 
and viewing of ophthalmic images.

Determining if RetCam is Configured for RCRS

To determine if the RetCam System is configured for use with RCRS, look in the

upper right corner of the 

Patients and Exams

 screen and find 

. If the 

Sync

 

button is blue, as shown, the system is configured for use with RCRS. 

To determine if the RetCam system is currently connected to RCRS, look in the bottom 
right corner of the 

Patients and Exams

 screen and observe the Server Connection status 

(

Figure 27 on page 55

).

Server Connection Status

When the Server Connection status indicates “Connected to server (server name),” the 
RetCam System is ready for synchronization. If the RetCam system is configured for use 
with RCRS, but not currently connected, simply connect a shielded RJ-45 connector Cat5 
or Cat6 network cable. The RetCam System automatically detects the network connection 
to RCRS.

Never connect the RetCam System to a network or any externally powered 
devices or peripherals during imaging.
