5.4 Settings for PLC Communication Port
PLC has an external communication port of RS232C or RS485. You can configure
parameters of the port in [Channel 1] tab shown in the figure above.
(1) Station Number
Each PLC has its own station number for communication purposes. You can specify the
station number of PLC in setting above. Station number is available in range of 0 to 31,
a total of 32 numbers.
(2) Communication Parameters
You can configure baud rate (BPS), parity, data bit, stop bit and response delay values.
Note that the station number described above and these parameters must be matched
with the configuration of external master.
(3) Response Delay
When the PLC component receives a frame, a response frame will be transmitted after a
specified time interval. You can configure the response delay according to the
performance of the device from the other side. The default setting is ‘0’.
Notice
Some external device with weak microprocessor performance cannot process
communication signal from Hybrid Xpanel in real time. Those devices need some
processing time between transmission and reception signal on communication media.
To communicate with these devices, it is advisable to use the response delay feature.
Usually, the range of 50 ~ 100ms is recommended.
