Installation
At a Glance:
This chapter provides installation instructions. You should also be aware of the safety
warnings and guidelines. See Appendix D, “Translation of Warnings and Cautions” on
page 49 for more information.
Package Contents
Upon receipt, examine all shipping containers and their contents. Carefully unpack the
CN 3960 from the packing material. Visually inspect all parts for damage.
The following items are shipped with the CN 3960:
•
Chassis (with the power supply slot PS A empty)
•
Filler plate (will be installed covering the slot PS B)
•
Grounding screws (the 2 grounding screws will be attached to the back of the chassis
on the left hand side)
•
Mounting brackets for 19-inch rack and screws (2 brackets, and 4 screws)
If the unit is damaged or if any of the above items are missing, please contact your sales
representative.
NOTE: Mounting brackets for ETSI and 23-inch racks are also available. If they are
required for your installation you need to order these brackets separately.
You will also need to order:
•
Power supplies (1 or 2 power supplies in either AC or DC)
•
Power cables
•
Grounding lug and grounding wire (see the
Supplemental ground section on page 11
for specifications)
•
4 XFPs for the 10 Gigabit ports
•
8 SFPs for the 100/1000 Mbps ports
•
Faceplate cabling
•
