Step 1: Site Preparation

Rack Mounting Requirements
Before mounting the 61000 Security System in a standard 19" rack, make sure that:
•
The rack is stable, level, and secured to the building.
•
The rack is sufficiently strong to support the weight of a fully loaded Security System

•
The rack rails are spaced sufficiently wide to accommodate the system's external dimensions.
•
The shelf is mounted on the rack.
•
There is sufficient space at the front and rear of the Chassis to let service personnel to swap
out hardware components.
•
The rack has a sufficient supply of cooling air.
•
The rack is correctly grounded.
•
A readily accessible disconnect device is incorporated into the building’s wiring. The
disconnect device must be placed between the system's AC power inlet and the power source.
The disconnect device rating required must be determined by the nominal input voltage.
•
There are at least two inches of clearance at the air inlets and outlets to make sure there is
sufficient airflow.
•
Hot exhaust air is not circulated back into the system.
•
At least two persons are available to lift the Chassis.
Required Tools
To install the appliance in a standard 19" rack, these tools are required:
•
Standard Phillips (+) screwdriver set
•
Wrench
•
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) grounding wrist strap
