3.3 – Installation of the underbase
Dry setting is prohibited
- Seal the components using glue cement (plaster block glue, for
instance).
- Check surround levels and squarings.
- Brick any reinforcements specified in fireplace plans with
incombustible materials.
- If necessary, reinforce the setting with binder covered in moulding
plaster.
- Protect components as construction goes on in order to avoid
dirtying.
- Check dimensions, levels and squarings of each course.
3.4 – Combustion air inlets for Chazelles Design inserts
Beneath the insert, at the back, there are two Ø 100mm
openings. These must be connected to the external air inlet
with an aluminium shaft.
3.5 – Installation of a Chazelles Design insert
3.5.1 General points
Set-up of the insert must comply with national regulatory directives.
3.5.2 Specific instructions for installation
3.5.2.1 General points
Various detachable parts (baffle, hearth grille, ember tray and firedog) must
be removed from the appliance in order to avoid mechanical shock with the
appliance window during installing the insert on its support, it is advisable to
raise it using an appropriate means of lifting (ties and pipes are prohibited).
Take care to keep the draught control in closed position until the appliance
has been installed in order to avoid damaging the control.
Unauthorised modification of any kind to a Chazelles insert is
prohibited.
In any case, it is mandatory that the ventilation air intake of the
hood is located at the level the underbase possibly the jams or the
baking wall
