CAUTION

USE ALL NORMAL PRECAUTIONS IN OPERATING AIRCRAFT ENGINES ON THE
GROUND. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLY THE AIRCRAFT WITH THE T-232 CABLE
CONNECTED TO THE CONTROLLER. THE CABLE MUST NOT BE ROUTED NEAT
THE HIGH VOLTAGE IGNITION HARNESS, HEAT SOURCES, CONTROL LINKAGES,
OR ANY OTHER CRITICAL AIRCRAFT SYSTEM.
6.2.4 Ground Test The Engine
A.
Start the engine using all normal precautions and procedures.
B.
The following information will be displayed on the computer screen, and should be verified within
reasonable accuracy and normal expected results.
Engine Speed
Represents the exact engine RPM, updated every 2 milliseconds.
Average Engine Speed
The average engine RPM over the preceding 2 second interval.
Minimum/Maximum Speed Sample
Two values which represent the minimum and maximum engine
RPM during the time period starting with the most recent LASAR
®
power-up through the latest 2 second update interval.
Manifold Pressure
Pressure at the LASAR
®
controller expressed in inches of Mercury.
Battery Voltage
Voltage at the LASAR
®
controller expressed in volts.
LASAR
®
Status
“L” represents operation in LASAR
®
automatic mode, “B”
represents operation in the backup mode.
Ignition Switch Status
The grounded or ungrounded condition of the right and left
magnetos. Displayed as “R” indicating an ungrounded right
magneto, “L” indicating an ungrounded left magneto, “B” indicating
that both magnetos are ungrounded (also displayed when the
ignition switch is in the start position), or “O” indicating that both
magnetos are grounded.
Fault Code
Various numeric values which represent different conditions under
which the controller has automatically switched to backup
operation.

assistance in isolating the system discrepancy.
