Disassembly and Assembly
Primary Fuel Filter and Filter Base
FIGS. 33–34: Removing the primary fuel filter and filter
base.
1. Disconnect the two hose assemblies (6) and (7) from
the filter base (8). Cap the hose assemblies and plug
the filter base with the Tooling (A).
2. Disconnect the hose (14) from water separator bowl
(13).
3. Remove the water separator bowl (13) from the fuel
filter element (12).
4. Remove the fuel filter element (12) from the filter base
(8).
5. Remove the four bolts (9) which fasten the filter base
(8) to the machine. Remove the filter base.
6. If necessary, remove the five plugs (10) and remove
the O-ring seals (11) from the plugs.
7. Remove the stud (8A) from the filter base (8).
