ASX-1400 Autosampler Operator’s Manual

Installing the Autosampler

station.  The waste rinse then drains from the rinse station by means of
a  pumped  drain  which  is  the  standard  arrangement  for  draining  the
rinse station.

Pumped Drain Arrangement

In  a pumped  drain  arrangement, the rinse solution moves through the
center  channel  of  the  on-board  peristaltic  pump  to  the  inlet  at  the
bottom of the rinse station. It then flows out the top of the rinse station
into the drain reservoir. The drain reservoir is pumped by the front and
rear channels of the on-board peristaltic pump as shown in Figure 3-2.
There are many different types of tubing that can be used for the rinse
station.   Viton

®

is the pump tubing that ships with each unit. Tygon

®

Fuel and Lube (yellow), Tygon

®

(clear), and PharMed

®

(opaque) can also

be used for pump tubing depending on the application and user
preference. Superthane

®

is the clear tubing used everywhere other than

the pump tubing. Tygon

®
