The suction assembly (9) (through tube 10 ) creates
vacuum in the centrifugal separator (11) . The fluid
received from the surgeries, through the manifold
tube (2) flows into the centrifugal separator (11) .
The centrifugal separator separates air from
liquids: the air is exhausted outside through tube
no. (4) while the liquids (if there is no amalgam
separator) are drained into the sewage through the
drain tube connected to the tube holder (6) .
The centrifugal separator (11) starts before the
turbine (9) , this time delay makes it possible to
eject any liquids that may have accumulated in the
centrifugal separator, before suction starts. When
the machine is switched off, an adjustable timer will
keep the suction unit on for 10 to 300 seconds.
OPERATION

Smart suction units can be supplied complete
with our amalgam separator “Idrociclone ISO
18” for Turbo-Smart and "Idrociclone ISO 6" for
Micro-Smart. The amalgam separator is always
accompanied by an operation and maintenance
manual.
We are mentioning them because we would like to
point out operation features and benefits, especially
in terms of environment protection.
Our amalgam separators "Idrociclone ISO 6" and
"Idrociclone ISO 18" have been approved by TÜV for
amalgam separation: the first one is approved for
98.9% separation efficiency with 5.5 l/min flow rate,
the second one is approved for 98.3% separation
efficiency with 18 l/min flow rate.
Both certificates have been issued by the Essen
TÜV.
