STARTING UP, TESTING AND INSTRUCTING PERSONNEL
Once you have assembled and electrically connected
the Blok-Jet Silent, simply switch on the unit (1) and
send the permissive signal from one of the dental units
connected, to activate the suction unit and compressor.
The compressor will start and fill the tank to the desired
pressure of 8 bar see (2) . Instructions to personnel on
operation and ordinary maintenance must be given before
the unit is used so that it is not contaminated. Surgery
personnel must be shown how to follow the stages of
operation of the Smart suction unit on the display (5) , to
interpret danger warnings and light signals (3-4) and to
correctly carry out maintenance operations with Puli-Jet
plus new, Pulse Cleaner and antifoaming tablets.

OPERATION
Air enters the cylinder through a filter 6 , undergoes an
initial filtration which removes airborne dust, improves
its quality and protects piston and cylinder. The piston
travels inside the cylinder without lubrication; the
material that covers the piston and the material of
the cylinder liner are compatible and, despite the
relative motion, will not be subject to significant wear.
For this reason, our maintenance instructions do not
recommend replacing the elastic band and piston at
any time throughout the life of the compressor. In the
cylinder, air is compressed and heated up to 100/120°C,
it is thus necessary to pass it through the air-to-air
exchanger (9) where, at an ambient temperature of
about 20 °C, ΔT at the exchanger outlet will be approx.
5 °C. The compressed air must be cooled in order to
reach the dew point, which is a necessary condition for
condensation of the water vapour present in the air. In
the dryer column, (12) air passes through the cyclone
where it deposits water, then it goes through a silica gel
mix with high adsorbent power, where it is further dried.
After leaving the drying column, air passes through two
filters: the first one is sintered bronze, the second one
polyester; the polyester filter may be replaced with a
Hepa H14 filter. The dried and hygienically filtered air
goes into the tank (10) , ready to be used. The inside of
the tank is covered with a certified food grade resin to
guarantee good preservation. In this respect, we are
still considering whether to use an antibacterial food
grade resin. While the tank is filling, air also enters the
small tank (8) through a selective valve (7) . At the end of
each charge, the dry air in the small tank counter-flows
through the drying column to regenerate the silica gel.
This occurs because this return air drags with it all of
the water previously removed from the incoming air and
conveys it into the bottle. The entire process described
above takes place automatically.
