Locking tilt (back) angle
Adjustment of tilt tension
Rule of thumb for tilt tension
The 5 tilt angles can be locked in steps from the initial state to
the final reclining angle with the tilt knob under the left side of
the seat.
Adjust tilt tension for reclining the backrest with the knob under
the right side of the seat.
The rule of thumb for a suitable tension is a level, at which the
backrest tilts while supporting the back when you lightly rest
against the backrest, and the backrest smoothly comes with you
when you return to an upright position.

Locking tilt angle
Recline the backrest to the
angle where you want to lock
it, push the tilt knob under
the left side of the seat in the
inward direction and remove
your hand from the knob.
The backrest will be locked
in place.
• When adjusting the tension, be sure to do this while sitting up
straight (do not lean back). Rotation of the tilt tension adjust-
ment knob will be more difficult if you do this while leaning back.
• When adjusting the tension, do not insert a finger into the hole
in the knob. You may hurt yourself.
When the backrest does not smoothly come along with you to the
upright position at the final flattest tilt angle, lift up your body so
you are putting little weight on the chair while still sitting and raise
the tilt tension with the backrest returned to the upright position.
Unlocking tilt angle
1) Pull the tilt knob under the
left side of the seat in the
outward direction and remove
your hand.
2) When you tilt backward, put-
ting the weight of your body on
the backrest, the tilt angle will
be unlocked.
