Maintenance

Replacing the Cartridge

Holding the cartridge in place with one
hand, raise the orange tab, then slowly
and steadily pull the sealing tape
(approx. 28" (71 cm) long) completely
out of the cartridge.

CAUTION

• If you get loose toner powder on your

hands or clothing, wash them immedi-
ately with cold water. Washing with
warm water will set the toner and make
it impossible to remove the toner
stains.

• Be careful to avoid cutting your fingers

on the sealing tape.

• Touching or scratching the

photosensitive drum with the hands
can lead to poor printing quality. Never
open the protective shutter over the
drum.

NOTE

• To avoid breaking the tape, do not pull the

tape out at an upward or downward angle.

• If the tab breaks off the tape, pull the tape

out by pulling on the end of the tape
where the tab was originally attached.
