Symptom

Black band appears in sub scanning direction when scanning both sides simultaneously at

DADF (Duplex Color Image Reader Unit-C1)

Description

When scanning both sides simultaneously (feed direction [a]) at DADF on the duplex color image reader

unit-C1 with the serial numbers listed below, black band may appear in sub scanning direction [b]. (Black

band [b] appears on one or both sides.)

Cause

On the scanner unit [1] inside of the DADF, the light-blocking sheet [3] attached on the mirror spring [2]

comes off and floats [a], causing to block the light path. [A] shows the light-blocking sheet is attached

securely, and [B] shows the light-blocking sheet coming off.
