:
The procedures for completing the printer connection for Windows NT 4.0
and Windows 2000 are similar. Windows NT 4.0 screen captures are used with
relevant Windows 2000 differences noted.
Completing the Windows NT 4.0 TCP/IP and LPR connection
Once you have installed the PostScript printer driver and printer driver files, complete
the setup for the TCP/IP and LPR connection as follows:
• Prepare the ColorPASS to accept print jobs using TCP/IP and LPR protocols.
(For details, see the Configuration Guide.)
• Configure the workstation for the TCP/IP connection.
Before you continue, ask the system administrator for the IP address assigned to the
ColorPASS, as well as the subnet mask and the gateway address, if they are used.
The TCP/IP Protocol and Microsoft TCP/IP Printing software should already be
installed on the Windows NT workstation.
To do this:
See:
Configure the TCP/IP (LPR port)
connection
“Completing the Windows NT 4.0
TCP/IP and LPR connection” on page 28.
Configure the IPX (Novell)
connection
“Completing the Windows NT 4.0 and/or
Windows 2000 IPX (Novell) connection”
on page 32.
