BUS Sends
The CDC five is equipped with 24 assignable busses, which can be configured as AUX SENDS, AUDIO
GROUPS or MATRICES, all of which can be configured individually and can be operated in mono or
linked in stereo. Individual channels can be routed to any bus type directly, and both AUX and
GROUPS can then be routed to either the MASTER L&R or a MATRIX, and the MASTER L&R can also
be routed to any MATRIX BUS.
It is worth noting that all CDC consoles employ a comprehensive latency management system,
meaning that routing through the console will not alter the phase alignment of the outputs. An example
would be to route an INPUT DIRECT to a MATRIX output, as well as routing the same INPUT to
GROUP, then ROUTING the GROUP to the MASTER L&R and then route the MASTER L&R to the
same MATRIX. The result would still be phase coherent down to sample level.
36: Bus Sends window is opened by pressing the area
of the channel strip, segmented into 24 slots,
between the compressor and Channel name.
37: Bus sends will only populate the screen once routed. The horizon
bar graph indicates the level of the input going to the bus. The vertical
line shows the amount of pan: L to R. The balance control shows the
balance of a stereo send to a stereo bus. The Bus sends are also colour
coded:
Blue
= Aux,
Pink
= Group
,
Yellow
= Matrix,
Green
= Stereo
