By pressing a blank VCA name (the example on the previous page has VCAs named and 

assigned) it will bring up the VCA setup page. Here channels can be assigned to a VCA and 

VCAs named:

19. 

TALKBACK ENABLE

: This button is not active until a TALKBACK channel has been assigned 

to the input channels. The CDC five has a very flexible talkback system, which is configured 

through setup options on the MENU screen. Any of the local (rear panel) I/O may be assigned 

as a Talkback output or a Return Talkback input.

SOLO CLEAR

: Used to clear SOLO selections from a single to multiple channels

. 

 

21. 

CUE

: Pressing this will bring down the MENU screen showing the currently loaded CUE LIST. 

Press CUE again and the MENU screen will slide back into the STATUS bar. 

 

22. 

BACK

: Used in the system menu

; navigates back one “level” within the MENU screen menu, if 

available, or returns to the default CUE list. A further press will close the MENU screen. 

Illuminates red when available.
