Chapter 4. Basic Troubleshooting
This section helps you identify problems that may occur while running your server and
provides you with basic troubleshooting guidelines.
If problems persist, please contact your Customer Service Engineer.
Location Symptom Solution
Power LED System does not power up.
All LEDs are OFF.
Check that all power cables are properly
connected and that the server is properly
supplied. If the problem persists, contact
your Customer Service Engineer
General fault LED System powers on, but then
turns off. General fault LED
(Orange) is ON.
Power ON the server again. If the
problem persists, contact your Customer
Service Engineer.
Power fault LED System powers on, but then
turns off quickly.
Power fault LED (Orange) is
ON.
Check that the power cable is properly
connected. Power ON the system again.
If problem persists, contact your
Customer Service Engineer.
Cooling fault LED System powers on, but then
turns off quickly.
Cooling fault LED (Orange) is
ON.
Check that the intake and exhaust air
flows are free of any obstacle.
If problem persists, contact your
Customer Service Engineer.
Video System turns on, but the
screen remains blank.
Check that all cables of the display are
properly connected (power cable, video
cable).
Also ensure that the display is turned on.
Video Screen status is unusual. Check that the video cable is properly
connected.
Check that brightness and contrast are
properly set.
Check that the correct OS video driver is
installed.
Check that the refresh rate setting
matches displayed specifications.
If needed replace the display.
Keyboard Keyboard does not work. Check that the keyboard USB cable is
properly connected.
Plug the USB cable into another USB
port. If needed replace the keyboard.
Mouse Mouse does not work
normally.
Check that the mouse USB cable is
properly connected.
Plug the USB cable into another USB
port. If needed replace the mouse.
