SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
Recognize safety information. This is the safety-alert symbol
(
). When you see this symbol on the unit and in instruc-
tions or manuals, be alert to the potential for personal
injury.
Understand the signal words — DANGER, WARNING, and
CAUTION. These words are used with the safety-alert sym-
bol. Danger identifies the most serious hazards which will
result in severe personal injury or death. Warning indicates
a situation that could result in personal injury. Caution is
used to identify unsafe practices which would result in minor
personal injury or product and property damage.
WARNING:
Before performing service or mainte-
nance operations on unit, turn off main power switch
to unit. Electrical shock could cause personal injury.
GENERAL
The new 619E heat pump high wall fan coil units (Fig. 1) DO
NOT have electric heaters. These new heat pump fan coil units
have been specifically designed to improve system efficiency
in both heating and cooling modes when matched with a 538B
outdoor heat pump unit. If your application requires heat-
ing, heat pump units must be used, both outdoors and in-
doors. See Table 1 for recommended system combinations.
INSTALLATION
The 619E cooling only high wall fan coil unit is installed with
either the 538A condensing or 538S multi-split condensing
outdoor unit, and the 619E heat pump fan coil unit is in-
stalled with the 538B heat pump outdoor unit. Refer to
Table 1 to make sure the correct indoor unit(s) is installed
with the correct outdoor unit.
Installation instructions for the 619E fan coil units are con-
tained in this manual. Refer to this manual for proper instal-
lation of the complete system. Note that the 538A, 538B, and
538S outdoor units are shipped with installation and service
instructions for basic installation of the outdoor section. Be
sure to make the modifications in Make Connections to Out-
door Unit section on page 8 of this literature so that the out-
door unit will operate properly with the 619E control system.
Be sure the unit will be operated within the application guide-
lines shown in Table 2. When installing the 538A, 538B, or
