10-10. Adjusting the standby position of the movable knife

1.  Remove the top cover, the motor cover and the solenoid cover, and then tilt back the machine head.
2.  Turn the pulley (1) by hand in the direction of the arrow to move the needle bar to its lowest position.
3.  Loosen the bolt (2).
4.  Push the movable knife (3) in the direction of the arrow to take up the play, and then move thread trimmer rod H (4)

forward or back to adjust so that the V section (A) is aligned with the index mark (B) on the needle plate.

5. After tightening the bolt (2), check the above position once more.

6. Loosen the four bolts (5) and the nut (6) until the thread trimmer roller (7) is within the groove in the thread trimmer cam

(8). After this, tighten the set screw (9) until the thread trimmer roller (7) is touching the inside of the groove in the thread
trimmer cam (8) and then turn it back in the counterclockwise direction by approximately 1/4 of a turn. Then tighten the nut
(6).
