Enters value. The PLC
programme must copy
the value to a storage

register.
First entry after <S> au-
tomatically clears old 1

Enters new value.
3.2.4 Keypad.
The key data is transmitted to the PLC as long as
a key is pressed. Keys not installed/used are set
to zero.
The message display transmits information of up
to two keys (any) pressed at the same time.
3.2.5 Numerical Entry (UCT-34).
The UCT-34 operator panel includes numerical
keypad.
The numerical keys can be used for entry of:
• Setpoints.
• Process parameters.
• Timer values.
• Alarm limits
• Etc.
The numerical entry can be up to 4 BCD digits (0-
9999) corresponding the normal range for internal
PLC variables.
The key entry is converted into an integer in the
operator panel and automatically transferred via
the serial link to a predefined PLC register reserved
for the numerical entry.
As both function keys and numerical keys are
copied to the PLC as individual signals full flexibility
is obtained for the PLC programmer to adapt appli-
cation needs.
In the following examples are given how to utilize
UCT-34.
If the entered value should be displayed on the
operator panel the PLC application programme
must copy it to one of the registers defined for
variable digits e.g. variable #1 as indicated in the
following example.
