S tep 1 . P osition main po w er s w itch to “ O FF. ”
S tep 2. Disconnect ( Unp l ug ) w ater heater f rom 1 2 0 V o l t
po w er source .
S tep 3 . Un -l atch & remove surround cover f rom top o f w ater
heater .
S tep 4. Disconnect primary l eads ( b l ack & w hite ) and secondary l eads ( b l ue & ye ll o w) f rom the trans f ormer .
( connections are di ff erent sizes to prevent interchanging )
S tep 5 . R emove the 2 nuts ( 7/16 nut driver ) ho l ding the trans f ormer in p l ace and remove trans f ormer f rom contro l
pane l. ( see photo be l o w)
S tep 6 . I nsta ll ne w trans f ormer and secure in p l ace w ith scre w s f rom step 6 .
S tep 7 . R econnect primary and secondary w ires to trans f ormer ( l eads are di ff erent sizes to prevent interchanging ) .
S tep 8 . R estore 1 2 0 vo l t po w er supp l y to w ater heater and con f irm proper operation f o ll o w ing the l ighting instructions
on the l ighting instruction l abe l or the l ighting instruction l ocated in the insta ll ation and operating instruction
manua l.
S tep 9 . R ep l ace surround cover on top o f w ater heater .
