Thermostat Sensor (Thermister) Replacement Procedure
S tep 1 . Positio n mai n power switch to “O FF ”
S tep 2. Disco nn ect ( u n p l u g) water heater from 1 2 0 vo l t power
source .
S tep 3 . U n -l atch a nd remove top surrou nd cover from top of
heater .
S tep 4. Disco nn ect temperature se n sor from co n tro l ( see photos be l ow ) .
S tep 5 . U n c l ip se n sor from we ll a nd pu ll se n sor to remove , d o n ot remove we ll ( see picture ) .
S tep 6 . I n sta ll n ew se n sor assemb l y i n to we ll a nd rei n sta ll se n or c l ip .
S tep 7 . Reco nn ect the se n sor co nn ector to the co n tro l boar d a nd route the wire har n ess
throu g h the same path that it was remove d .
