Electrical Connections
All elect rical w iring and connect ions must be in accordance w it h t he
Nat ional Elect ric Code ANSI/NFPA No. 70 (lat est edit ion), or t he Canadian
Elect rical Code C22.1 (lat est edit ion) and any local codes w hich may
apply. The w at er heat er must be elect rically grounded.
If a f lexible line cord and plug is permit t ed by local code, t hen provide a (3)
t hree w ire grounding t ype recept acle w it hin 6 f eet

of t he w at er
heat er and use t he f lexible cord provided. Do not plug t he line cord int o a
recept acle t hat can have it s pow er supply int errupt ed by a sw it ch t hat is
used t o t urn on and of f light s.
If w iring in conduit is required, cut t he f lexible line cord f lush w it h t he
bushing. Remove t he junct ion box cover and pull t he pressure sw it ch
out side of t he junct ion box. Cut t he t hree w ires f rom t he line cord at t he
bushing inside of t he junct ion box. Drill a hole t o receive t he 1/2’’ elect rical
conduit connect or on t he backside of t he blow er. Wire t he pow er supply
int o t he circuit at t he appropriat e locat ions. Replace t he pressure sw it ch
and junct ion box cover.
CAUTION
Turn of f or disconnect t he elect rical pow er supply t o t he w at er
heat er bef ore servicing. Label all w ires prior t o disconnect ion w hen
servicing cont rols. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous
operat ion. Verif y proper operat ion af t er servicing.
