Vent Pipe Preparation and Joining continued-
d) Cement ing must be done quickly t o avoid over-drying bef ore
joining.
i)
Apply one coat t o t he out side end of t he pipe at a w idt h
slight ly great er t han t he dept h of t he socket .
ii) Apply a coat around t he inside of t he f it t ing socket .
iii) Apply a second coat around t he end of t he pipe.
4) Joining
a) Joint s should be made immediat ely af t er cement is applied.
b) Af t er f ully insert ing pipe int o f it t ing socket , hold joint t oget her f or
about 15 t o 20 seconds.
c) Remove excess cement f rom around pipe and f it t ing w it h a clean
rag.
d) Cement drying t imes may vary. Be sure t o allow f or t he
recommended drying t ime bef ore dist urbing joint s.
