6.1.2
Checking the yaw angle
1.
Move the SCT 141x to the top position.
2.
Attach the reference boards (Abb. 50, item 1) on
the left and right of the adjustment bar and use the
spirit levels (Abb. 50, item 4) to align them.

3.
Attach the P-Assist S5 to laser mount B and secure it
with the arresting cable on the L-bracket.
4.
Switch on the P-Assist S5.
The laser beam marks the reference boards.

1 P-Assist S5 (from the TSS case 1 690 381 417)
2 Laser beam on the scale of the reference board
5.
Compare the marked values on the scales of the
reference boards.
The yaw angle is correct if the two values vary by
a maximum of 1 mm.
6.
If the values differ from one another by more than
1 mm, remove the precision measuring bar and
loosen the screw (Abb. 52, item 2) in the retainer
bushing.
i
The retainer bushings (Abb. 52, item 1) on the
mounts for the precision measuring bar can be
moved by 2 to 3 mm (Abb. 52, item 3) for precision
adjustment of the yaw angle.
7.
Carefully adjust the retainer bushing and tighten the
screw at 5 Nm.
8.
Attach the precision measuring bar to the mounts.
9.
Switch on the P-Assist S5.
The laser beam marks the reference boards.
10.
Compare the marked values on the scales of the
reference boards.
11.
Repeat precision adjustment of the retainer bus-
hings until the laser beam marks the reference
boards at the same value.
12.
Use sealing wax to mark the screws.

6.2.1
Checking the end stops
1.
Inspect the sealing was on the end stops for damage.
2.
Inspect the end stops for visible flaws.
3.
Inspect the end stops for damage such as dents or
burrs.
4.
Align the DAS 800/1000 (VAS 6430) with the aid of the
pitch angle spirit level and the roll angle spirit level.
5.
Move the precision measuring bar against the bot-
tom end stops.
6.
Compare the spirit level values on the VAS board to
the spirit level values on the precision measuring bar.
7.
If the spirit level values differ from one another, re-
align the bottom end stops (see 1 690 386 065, sec.
"4.6 Installing the lower end stops") until the spirit
level values are the same.
8.
Move the precision measuring bar against the top
end stops.
