Connection of the Air Supply to the Air Tool
Screw the hose nipple
1
into the connector at the air
inlet
19
.
To prevent damage to the internal valve components
of the tool, you should use an open-end wrench
(22 mm) to apply a counterforce at the protruding con-
nector of the air inlet
19
when screwing/unscrewing
the hose nipple
1
.
Loosen the hose clamps
20
of the air inlet hose
23
with a maximum length of 4 m and attach the air inlet
hose over the hose nipple
1
by firmly tightening the
hose clamp.
Always connect the air inlet hose 23 first to the
tool, then to the maintenance unit.
Slip the air inlet hose
23
over the coupling nipple
24
and attach the air inlet hose by firmly tightening the
hose clamp
20
.
Screw a quick hose connector
25
into the air outlet of
the maintenance unit
26
. Quick hose connectors
make possible a quick connection and, when uncou-
pled, they shut off the air supply automatically.
Take care that you do not start the tool accidentally
when you insert the coupling nipple
24
into the coupler
25
.
5 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Disconnect the air hose from the air supply be-
fore making any adjustments, changing acces-
sories, or storing the tool.
Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the tool acciden-
tally.
The angle grinders are supplied with protective guard,
inner flange, and outer flange nut as well as adjusting
tools (pin spanner wrench and open end wrench), but
not with accessories.
Use the accessory only for the recommended
applications
– e.g., never use a cut-off wheel for wire
brushing.
The rated speed of the accessory
must be at least equal to the maxi-
mum speed marked on the air tool.
Accessories running faster than their
rated speed can fly apart.
Abrasive, Cut-Off, and Wire Brush
Wheels
Observe the dimensions of the abrasive wheels
10
;
e.g., 125 x 6 x 22.2 mm corresponds to an outer di-
ameter of 125 mm, a thickness of 6 mm, and an inner
hole diameter of 22.2 mm. The inner hole diameter
must match the inner flange
11
. Do not use a reducing
piece or adapter.
Installation
After you have mount-
ed the protective
guard
13
(see
Mount-
ing the Protective De-
vice
), place the inner
flange
11
on the tool
spindle
14
.
Take care that an un-
damaged O-ring is in-
serted in the inner
flange
11
on the
centering collar. If this
O-ring is absent or damaged, it must be immediately
replaced before an abrasive wheel is mounted.
The O-ring faces in the
direction of the abra-
sive wheel. First place
the abrasive, cut-off,
or wire brushing wheel
10
, with the labeled
side facing down-
ward, on the tool spin-
dle
14
. Then screw
the outer flange nut
9
onto the tool spindle
thread so that the central depression of the outer
flange nut faces you. Screw the outer flange nut
9
tightly by using the pin spanner wrench
8
, while you
apply a counterforce with the open end wrench
17
at
the wrench flats of the tool spindle
14
.
Check whether the abrasive accessory is prop-
erly mounted and can rotate freely!
