Absolute Pressure: • When the altitude is entered the nominal pressure in pascals is
automatically calculated and displayed.
Light Menus: • when enabled, an Auto Control feature allows the GasFinderMC to adjust
the light setting automatically between the two set levels.

: this item allows the user to specify the value of the confi dence factor
below which the concentration is deemed to be insignifi cant. Operators can adjust this
value to reduce the occurrence of “noisy” readings in the presence of steam, traffi c, or
thermal scintillation factors.
Consultation with Boreal Laser Inc. may be prudent before
changing this value from the factory default value.
Swps/ref Swps/samp: • the laser drive electronics are designed to vary the emission
wavelength of the laser from just below to just above the selected wavelength. This varying
laser wavelength effectively ‘sweeps’ across the selected line, and the resulting readings
are called ‘
sweeps ’. A series of ‘ sweeps ’ are averaged to form a ‘ scan ’. When the data
for the ‘sample scan’, ‘reference cell scan’, and ‘associated readings’ are incorporated
into the calculations of gas concentration by the on board computer, the resulting value is
called a ‘
sample ’. One ‘ sample ’ typically takes about 1sec.
Gas Shift Menus: • this item allows the user to manually line up the waveforms and is used
to increase the R2 value. Consultation with Boreal Laser Inc. is strongly recommended
before changing this value.
Alarm Settings Menus: • this sub menu allows the user to select the set-point at which
the Dry Contact Relay Module will activate. It is also used by the GasViewMC program to
display warning and alarm indicators on the computer screen.
Alarm ppmm : sets the value in ppmm at which the warn limit relay will energise.
Warning ppmm : sets the value in ppmm at which the alarm limit relay will energise.

4-20mA Current Loop settings: • this submenu allows the user to confi gure the 4-20mA
current loop settings for each channel.
4mA ppmm Set Point: used to set the value in ppmm which corresponds to a
loop current of 4mA.
20mA ppmm Set Point: used to set the value in ppmm which corresponds to a loop
current of 20mA.
4 - 20mA Enable: used to enable or disable the 4-20mA current loop output
for that particular channel.

Minimum Attenuation level: • allows the user to set the GasFinderMC minimum gain
between 1 and 4. It should not require changing from the factory setting.
