Accessory Modules
RF Barrier (RFB) Module
In circumstances where the Remote Heads and Duct Probes
are located in a hazardous area, an RFB Module is connected
in series with the coaxial cables from the remote heads to
the CCU. This prevents any electrical power disturbance in
the CCU from travelling back along the coaxial cables to the
Remote Heads. The RFB Module is a rack-mounted unit
2U high. Details of this module are given in the RFB Module
manual.
The coaxial BNC patch cord from the Remote Head’s ethernet cable is connected to the IN
connector of the appropriate channel on the RFB module, and a short BNC patch cord is
used to connect from the OUT channel on the RFB Module to the CCU.

odule (DCRM) is a self contained,
rack-mounted unit, 2U high, which uses the serial data
output from a
GasFinderMC
C
entral
C
ontrol
U
nit (CCU) to
control relays in the
DCRM
. The module is confi gured using
the CCU and, depending on the channel alarm settings, the
DCRM
will energize the relays to give an NC or NO output.
The relay operation is triggered by four conditions:
High Gas Warning — Alarm 1

High Gas Alarm
— Alarm 2
•
Low Light condition — Low Light
•
Module Power Loss — System Fault
•
4–20mA Module
The 4–20mA Module is a self contained, rack-mounted
module, 2U high, which uses the serial data output from a
Boreal Laser Inc.

).
For each enabled channel, the serial data string is converted
to a 4
-20mA signal which can be used by a Distributed
Control System (DCS) for control or display of the gas being
monitored. The module is confi gured using the CCU.
