Laying out your ServManager system prior to installation will make the
installation process go more smoothly. It will also help you to keep the port-
selection numbers you’ll use in keyboard commands in a rational sequence.
Figure 3-2 on the previous page and Figure 3-3 above illustrate the proper
layout and numbering of your submasters and CPUs.
Keep these restrictions in mind when you design your ServManager system:
•
If you use original Serv cables, the total distance from any CPU to any
monitor, keyboard, and mouse should not exceed 25 ft. (7.6 m).
Depending on your application, this distance might be less; see
Section 4.1.3
.
