Power Sensor (Cal Cart only)
To replace a power sensor:
1. Discon n ect t h e RF lin e fr om t h e Ca l Ca r t .
2. Rem ove t h e Ca l Ca r t fr on t pa n el (see Chapter 6 "Front Panel (Cal Cart
on ly)", pa ge 45).
3. Discon n ect t h e sen sor ca ble fr om t h e power sen sor .
4. Discon n ect t h e RF ca ble fr om the sensor output port.
5. Rem ove t h e scr ews on t h e sen sor m ou n t in g br a ck et .
6. Rem ove t h e sen sor fr om t h e m ou n t in g br a ck et .
7. P u t t h e n ew sen sor in t h e br a ck et a n d scr ew it in t o pla ce.
Note:
Make sure the arrow on the side of the sensor points towards
Cal Cart.
8. Con n ect t h e RF ca ble t o t h e sen sor
sor cable.
9. Repla ce t h e Ca l Ca r t fr on t pa n el.
WARNING
To avoid personal injury, disconnect the power cord from the ac line before
performing any maintenance, including fuse replacement or changing the
line voltage setting.
WARNING
Never attempt to connect or disconnect RF equipment from the
transmission line while RF power is being applied.
Leaking RF energy is a potential health hazard.
CAUTION
The Bird 4421 must be powered off when connecting or disconnecting the
power sensor from the power meter.
CAUTION
reduce the maximum power rating of the unit.
CAUTION
Due to the complexity of the Bird Power Sensor, field repairs beyond
general maintenance should not be attempted.
Removal or disturbance of the power sensor cover can result in cancellation
of lifetime warranty.
