Setup

Setting Up

1. Turn off the signal source.
2. Turn on the DPM. Press and hold power key for approximately 3 seconds

then release.

3. Connect the load to an AC supply and check that the fans turn on.

4. Connect the source to the power sensor. See

"Connections" on page 6

5. Connect the DPS to the load.
6. Connect the DPS to the meter (DPM).
7. Install the proper elements into the DPS. See

"Elements" on page 8

8. Set the full scale power.

Charging the DPM Battery

The 5000-NG has an internal battery capable of up to 8 hrs of operation from a

full charge, the actual battery life will vary according to the amount of time the

display is active, see

"Specifications" on page 50

1. Connect AC adapter to the micro-USB port on the 5000-NG.

Note:

The 5000-NG can be used for RF power measurement while

charging.

2. Allow the 5000-NG to charge until charge indicator indicates the unit is fully

charged.

CAUTION

Only use the supplied AC adapter to charge the unit.

Due to the amperage required to charge the 5000-NG, charging from another

power source (i.e. laptop USB port) may damage that power source.
