Elements
The Directional Power Sensor (DPS) uses Bird Plug-In Elements. These are
labeled with a max power and a frequency range. The generator frequency
should be within the element range, and the forward element power should be
10x the reflected element power.
The element in the forward socket should be inserted with its arrow pointing in
the direction of forward power, as shown below.
Note: The reflected element socket should have the metal blanking
plug installed.

Note: The forward full scale power and element type must be
manually entered.
Note:

Note: The transmitter frequency should be within the element range.
1. Tap the Sensor Operation Menu .
2. Tap Sensor Mode.
3. Select mode based on elements inserted in the sensor. See
"5014 Sensor
Element Types" on page 13
.
4. Tap the Display Controls Menu .
5. Tap Configuration.
a. Enter the Offset value (the offset can be found on the element
reference card included with the kit).
b. Enter Forward Scale (watt rating of the forward element).
6. Tap the Display Controls Menu .
7. Tap Readings.
WARNING
RF voltage may be present in RF element socket. Keep element in socket
during operation.
