Troubleshooting
Cleaning
Clean the Bird Digital Power Meter and its display with a soft cloth dampened
with mild detergent and water only. Clean sensors with a dry cleaning solvent
that leaves no residue.

Nothing shown on
DPM display
Unit is off or in
sleep mode
Press and hold power key for
approximately 3 seconds then release.
Battery is drained
Use external power source. "Charging
the DPM Battery" on page 4 .
Display does not show
sensor model number
when sensor is
attached.
Sensor
communication has
failed
Check USB cable connections at sensor
and DPM.
Use a different cable.
Use a different sensor.
Display shows bar scale
is full
Unit is overrange
Use higher power elements (if
applicable), or reduce RF power.
Erratic power readings
Element contact
out of alignment
Align the contact. It must be far enough
out to make good contact with the
element, but must not restrict entry of
the element body.
Damaged element Replace element.
Sensor is damaged Replace sensor.
CAUTION
Do not use harsh or abrasive detergents for cleaning.
