9.1.4 Function of the freshwater control
Level control in the inlet tank:
Water supply is effected by the solenoid valve (-
10Y1
) until the float switch (-
10S3
) opens. During filling the
relay (-
10K3
) is switched. It switches off the entire humidification module (-
9A1
) for the duration of the filling
and closes binary input 3 of the controller MB1 I/O board. If filling takes more than 5 minutes, an alarm
“
HUMID ALARM
” is given out on the controller MB1.
Safety system against inlet tank overflow:
With undisturbed operation the second float switch (-
10S1
) is closed. This float switch (-
10S1
) will be opened
if in case of error the maximal filling level of the inlet tank is exceeded. Also the relay (-
10K1
) switches off the
water inlet valve (-
10Y1
). The time lag relay (-
10K2
), switches on the evacuation pump (-
8M1
). If this state of
error lasts for more than 5 minutes, an alarm “
HUMID ALARM
” is given out on the controller MB1 display via
the binary input 3 of the controller MB1 I/O board.
Level control in the steam boiler:
Level control of the steam boiler is effected via the boiler sensor installed topside, which is controlled by the
control board (-
9N10
) of the humidification module.
This electronics directly controls the water pump (-
9M10
). It pumps the water from the inlet tank via the reflux
valve (6009-0162) and the pressure hose (6008-0117) into the steam boiler.
Run-dry protection of water pump (-9M10):
If there is no water in the inlet can, float switch (
-10S3
) is closed.
The relay (
-10K3
) switches off the complete humidification module (
-9A1
), that makes the operating of the
freshwater pump impossible.
Time-out function of water pump (-9M10):
If the filling level in the steam boiler is not reached after the water pump has operated for 90 sec, the humidi-
fication module control board (-
9N10
) activates its buzzer and switches off the pump. This may happen if the
water pump is defective, if the reflux valve does not open or if the inlet to the steam boiler is blocked.
The buzzer can only be switched off by switching off the humidity system with the humidity switch (
-8S1
) in
the right lateral control panel.
Temperature protection of water pump (-9M10 ):
At the pump a temperature fuse is located, which switches off the pump temporarily (automatic reset) in case
of excessive temperature rise.
Level control in the outlet tank:
When operating free from troubles, the outlet tank only collects the condensate from the inner chamber. In
case of malfunction only, it serves to drain off excessive freshwater. At maximum filling level, the floating
switch (
-10S2
) closes. The time lag relay (
-10K2
) switches on the evacuation pump (
-8M1
) for 10 sec.
As only little condensate is produced during normal unit function, the evacuation pump (
-8M1
) is operating
only rarely.
If you operate the unit at high humidity and then directly switch off the unit, the internal waste-water collector
may overflow due to the condensate. This may lead to emergence of water at the unit.
