Repair work at the humidifying and dehumidifying system
System structure and all functions are identical for the freshwater and waste water piping connection (with
and without the option “BINDER
Pure Aqua Service
”, order no. 8012-0625) and for the option “external
freshwater and waste water cans (order no. 8012-0643). The parts of these options are not described in
this service manual.
All the following functions are active only if the humidity system is switched on at the humidity switch (-
8S1
)
in the lateral control panel.
Functioning of the humidification module (-9A1):
Power supply of the humidification module is switched on with the humidity switch (
-8S1
) in the right lateral
control panel. During filling of the inlet tank, this power supply is switched off temporarily or in case of error,
with no filling of the inlet tank, permanently. This power supply is also switched off temporarily
(automatic reset) in case of exceeding the maximum temperature set by the user at the safety controller
MB1 I/O board (relay (
-5K1
)) or at the option under-/overtemperature protection class 3.3 (relay (
-5K2
)).
The heating element in the steam boiler has a power of 1500 W at 230 V AC. Installation of the diode (-
9V10
)
in series to the heater circuit reduces the power to 750 W. The heating is controlled by the boiler pressure.
At the steam boiler there is a manometric switch, which is switched off at the set overpressure above
ambient pressure of approx.1.5 bar and is switched on below 1.5 bar. Via a micro switch or a directly
connected relay it switches “on” or “off” the heating.
Overpressure protection:
If the pressure control of the steam boiler fails, the heating of the steam boiler is not switched off any
more. The pressure that forms in this case is limited by a safety valve to 5.5 bar up to 6.5 bar. With a higher
pressure, the safety valve allows steam to escape via the pressure compensation hose into the outlet tank.
Over temperature protection of the steam boiler:
If the level control of the steam boiler fails, overheating of the humidification module is prevented by two
temperature fuses mounted at the steam boiler and connected in series. The first one (
-9F20
) interrupts at
160°C /
320°F
the current supply to the heating element in the steam boiler. It is automatically reactivated
after cooling-down. The second one (
-9F10
) switches off at 175°C /
347°F
, this one must then be replaced.
CAUTION!
If one of the temperature fuses is blown, find and remove the cause
of the fault before taking the unit into operation again!
