Maintenance
Disconnect the unit from the mains
before starting any maintenance work!
Flexible Shaft
Grease the flexible shaft every 100 operating hours at the
latest!
To do this
remove the shaft core on the motor side and
grease with acid-free grease.
On "DK" and "DK pro" shafts:

"DK" and "DK pro" shaft
Pull the shaft core (1) out of the hose bush (3)
with the claw (2) on the handpiece side.
Insert the retainer pin in the hole (4) to secure the
shaft core.
Unscrew the claw (2) from the shaft core (1) on
the handpiece side.
Remove the shaft core on the motor side.
After greasing the shaft, insert the shaft core on
the motor side, replace the ball bearing on the
shaft core and screw the claw back onto the shaft
core.
After greasing, allow the shaft to run in at low
speed.
The type of grease varies depending on
the type of shaft!
Consult our service department for
selection of grease.
The flexible shaft must be replaced if the shaft breaks.
Carbon brush replacement
Worn carbon brushes switch off automatically after approx.
250 operating hours. Refer to the repair instructions in this
case.
If the carbon brushes are worn, the automatic cut-out
interrupts the power supply and the machine comes to a
standstill. The automatic cut-out prevents the collector of
the armature being damaged by the brush springs.
Constant inspection is thus eliminated.
The carbon brushes must only be replaced in pairs!
MB 20/2 and MB 20/3
Release 3 screws (1) on the housing and remove
the two half shells (Fig. 14).
