7 .2 SHARPENING THE BLADE
Pr oceed as follows as soon as it is noticed that
ther e is less cutting capacity:
W ARNING: Danger of cutting!
Use protective gloves which are resistant to
cutting and tearing and concentrate on the job
at hand.
PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION!

Open the slice deflect or (1 );
-
Clean the blade with denatur ed alcohol or hot
water ;

W ith the knob (2 ) r aise the cover of the
shar pener , tur n it 1 8 0 ° and lower it again;

Star t the machine (only blade r ot ation);
-
M ove t he lever (3 ) fr om the
“0 ”
position t o
the
“sharpening”
position and hold it in this
position for 1 0 - 1 5 seconds;
-
M ove the lever (3 ) t o the
“burr”
position for
2 -3 seconds to r em ove t he shar pening bur r ;
-
Put the lever back t o t he
“0 ”
position and
stop the blade m ovement ;

Raise the cover again, tur n it 1 8 0 ° and put it
back to its or iginal position;
-
Clean t he blade and t he machine.
Note: do not insist more than 2 -3 seconds with
the burring operation so as to avoid damage to
the edge of the blade.
